RA.23.01 New Signs for ASCA Rally

Motion carried (9-0) - Approved: Busquets, Byrne, Creelman, Gann, Gerken, Larson, McCabe, Sims, Wesen. Disapproved: None. Abstained: None. Non-voting: None.

Motion by Liaison Sims to approve the following recommendation from the Rally Committee.

Committee Recommendation: RC Motion 23.01 New Signs for ASCA Rally

Motion by Karen Black to add the signs listed below to the ASCA Rally program. Second by Corinne Shanks.

Cloverleaf Left, With Distraction:

Three cones are placed in a triangle pattern with cones 6 feet apart. The judge will replace a single cone of their choice with a distraction (toy or securely covered food bowl). Cones and distractions for the purpose of this description are referred to as objects.

Team enters in the center of the base objects and starting with the base object to their left, team heels a single complete figure eight around the base objects in heel position. Upon completing the loops around the base objects, team makes a loop clockwise around the third object at the top of the triangle in heel position. Team exits between the base objects in heel position moving in the opposite direction they were traveling. This is a 180° change of direction exercise. Objects may not be used by any other exercise. Other sections of the course path may not pass through the objects.

Team makes a 90-degree turn to the right in heel position. Immediately after completing the turn and without hesitation, team takes at least three handler steps back, dog maintains heel position. Team heels forward.

Team heels forward and makes a 90-degree turn to the left and without hesitation team takes at least three steps backDog remains in heel position. Team heels forward.

Left About Turn, U Turn:
Handler makes an about turn to the left. While handler turns left, the dog moves right and behind handler,
 resuming heel position while moving forward.   Upon completion of the left about turn, without hesitation the team makes an about turn to the left in heel position. Team heels forward. Up to two steps can be taken between turns for balance.

Stand Stay:

Immediately after passing the "Finish" sign, the team proceeds to this sign. The dog is placed in a stand. The handler commands and/or signals the dog to stay. The handler proceeds to the leash placed along the side of the ring where the exit is located, retrieves it, and returns around behind the dog to heel position. The dog must remain in a stand. After the Judge says, "Exercise Finished" the handler attaches the lead to the dog's collar and exits the ring. The leash shall be 20 feet away.

Neue Rule Books zum 1. Juni 2014 online
Sämtliche Rule Books der ASCA Programme sind auf den neuesten Stand zum 1. Juni 2014 eingestellt worden. Eventuelle Änderungen sind zum schnellen Erkennen grau hinterlegt. Relevante Änderungen werden auch in den Erläuterungen der ASCA Programme auf den ASVA Seiten berücksichtigt.

Neue ASCA Titel
Mit Aktualisierung der neuen Rule Books, können auch neue ASCA Titel im Bereich Obedience und Agility erzielt werden. Beim Obedience ist das der Titel "BN - Beginner Novice" und beim Agility ist das gleich eine ganze Serie von neuen Titeln - das "ACE - Agility Competitor Extraordinaire". Mehr dazu in Kürze auch auf den Programm Erläuterungen auf den ASVA Seiten.

Wahlen des neuen ASCA Vorstands
Die Wahlen fuer den ASCA Vorstand sind angelaufen.

In diesen Tagen erhalten die Mitglieder des ASCA die Wahlzettel mit dem Aufdruck "NOTICE: Election Ballot Enclosed". Sollten Sie Fragen haben, stehen wir gerne zur Verfügung. Mit Ihrer Wahl, können Sie als Mitglied den ASCA mit gestalten!

April 2014

Neue Junior Patterns ab 1. Juni 2014 gültig
Die "neuen" Junior Patterns (die Laufschemata) - sie wurden bereits im 2012 neu festgelegt - sind nun ab dem neuen Veranstaltungsjahr, sprich ab 1. Juni 2014 maßgeblich.

Ab dem 1. Juni sollte es damit auch ein entsprechend akualisiertes Rulebook für Junior Handling geben. Der letzte Stand ist bis dato Januar 2012.
Der überarbeitete Part und die Patterns sind aber schon auf der ASCA Hompepage zu finden.
